The Jenny Craig company began in Australia, began offering its diet program in America in 1985, and was purchased by Nestlé in 2006. The Jenny Craig diet is billed as the biggest weight management system in the world. It has a simple formula for weight loss -- good nutrition and basic activities It's a well-known formula for weight loss and healthy living used throughout the fitness world. The Jenny Craig diet doesn't only seek to help people lose weight, it seeks to establish a long term lifestyle for healthy living. In this sense it's much more than a fad diet.


The Jenny Craig diet has had a number of celebrity spokespeople. One of the most famous was Kristie Alley, former star of Cheers, who also appeared in some Star Trek movies. People were amazed at how fat Kristie had become when she first appeared as the spokesperson in 2005. She weighed in at 200 pounds and had been featured in a documentary called Fat Actress. In November of 2006 Kristie claimed the Jenny Craig diet had helped her lose 75 pounds, but she didn't appear any slimmer.


There is also personal counseling as part of the Jenny Craig diet. Jenny Craig trains the counselors who have no outside certifications as nutritionists or health professionals. The Jenny Craig diet works in the following manner. People join and then choose a plan based on prepackaged food. The selection is large - over 75 frozen and dry foods to which people add things like store bought vegetables and dairy. When people have been in the program for some time they begin creating their own meal plans. Eventually the Jenny Craig foods are cut back to less than half the meals.


WebMD ran a study on the Jenny Craig diet. The conclusion was that the provided food is of high quality, and that the diet can help people lose weight fairly quickly. So give the Jenny Craig diet a try.

How does a person who weighs over 400 lbs and is in a wheelchair lose weight?
I have a relative who is over 400 lbs is partially paralized. so, she obviously can't exercise to lose weight. She's in a wheel chair, and I highly doubt she'll ever be able to exercise again, maybe if she's lucky, so how does a person in her condition lose weight. No insurance, can't afford weight loss surgery, can't afford Jenny craig diet or whatever it's called. Please if you have any idea, I beg please tell me. I'm afraid she might die soon. She is in her fifty's. Any special diet any thing. Just not surgery, and exercising is kind of out of the question. If anyone knows, you can probably change a life, just please. If you have any Ideas, I will appreciate anything.

advice for people who want to loose weight?
6 months ago i was overweight i am 5 ft 6 inches and i weighed 168lbs through healthy eating and working out i lost 32lbs and am now at a healthy weight. i was the same as everyone else...looking for easy diets etc etc...now that i lost the weight...i realize just how EASY it actually is...its not about weight loss pills or jenny craig diets...its not about not eating ice-cream anymore...its about portion sizes and counting calories. trust me its soooooooo sooooooooooo worth it. you can do it !!!!!!

Any Body Ever Tried Jenny Criag?
I was wondering have any body tried the jenny craig diet. I'm was going to sign up until I found out how much it's going to cost and i don't have that sort of money right now because I'm still looking for a job and really hope I get a job so i can support myself.I'm 19 and I start college this year I just don't want to feel like a failure in my life.I mean I need to lose 50 pounds and I also need to pass that Test to get accepted to this school sometimes in February. I'm so young and I feel like I have the world on my shoulders.
